Essential Australia – Wildlife – Snakes


We encountered this snake in the Atherton Tablelands in North Queensland while walking around a lake. It was second time we saw a snake in Australia, however, the only time we managed to have the camera out before it slithered away.

I used the zoom on the camera rather than getting too close! As I did, the snake reared up and looked around at us, posing for a fine photo opportunity, which I took.
