Friday 10th August: Walluman Falls & The Tablelands

Walluman Falls is over 200 metres tall and ethereal. The walk to the pool below is long and steep with rainbows at the base. Aborigines say that waterfalls are sacred so tourists are asked to treat places like this with extra care and respect. The walk to the falls also had signs warning of snakes and stinging trees.

The drive to the tablelands is littered with waterfalls and lookouts over the misty hills. Atherton has a petrol station, supermarkets and plenty of amenities. Local attractions include the Crystal Caves, volcanic craters and a steam train tour.
