Going up the Victorian Alps – Alpine National Park
We are just about to set off up to the Alpine region of Victoria.
The camp sites up there have hot showers and gas barbecues, so should be a little more comfortable than total bush camping, whilst not breaking our bank!
We hope to do some horse riding and fishing while we are up there, and should have some decent photos of this in the next week or so (though I suspect internet access may be more difficult to organise in the wilderness…).
I’m also going to try to get some of my writing done as I have now received a power inverter that will allow me to use the computer from the car’s cigarette lighter and/or battery. I’m also looking into getting a solar car battery charger and rigging it up to a makeshift power supply using this… Though more on this later, as it is a project I need to research… rest assured, I’ll tell you when I’ve decided what is the best way.
Many thanks to those of you who have sent/handed/given me news clippings, books and details about where I can read more about the Big Project and similar things. It is much appreciated.
Also, special thanks to everyone who has helped us out here in Melbourne – Julian and Sharon, Anna and Alf for putting us up (and for putting up with us) for longer than we’d anticipated – totally above and beyond the call of duty… Thanks again to Slavo for lending us his car while he was back in Slovakia and to Jason for the barbecues and providing a room to sleepover when the temperature got too high and we ran towards the beach… hopefully, when we decide what we’re doing with our lives, we’ll be able to return the various favours sometime. In the meantime, thanks, and if you need a lift, give me a bell.
See you all soon.
