Great New Websites

Life has been pretty busy over the past couple of weeks, as we’ve moved into yet another house, got some low-key work, and been involved with a few more web projects. Here is a brief run-down of the latter:

The Museum of Goalkeeping

Which can be found at www.goalkeeping-museum.com, is a website I have designed and set up, but which shall be run by a few friends of mine who have a huge knowledge of football – goalkeeping in particular – but little experience in designing or setting up websites. The idea is to showcase the greatest and most interesting stories from the history of football’s number one player: the goalkeeper. For me in particular, it marks a return to more niche stuff, about a subject which I am passionate, so I’ll enjoy the site regardless of its popular appeal!

The Shitopedia

Remember a few months ago when I spoke of a site to have a rant, and let off some steam? No, well here it is. The Shitopedia - at www.shitopedia.org – is an encyclopaedia of everything which makes life, in one way or another, a bit shit. Again, as is now becomming the norm, I have not ventured into this enterprise alone, and there is a solid group of extremely funny individuals – who, importantly, have great writing ability – who shall be adding to the Shitopedia regularly. Furthermore, anyone who wants to join in and add their own gripes is totally free to as well! Think Grumpy Old Men crossed with the book Is It Just Me Or Is Everything Shit? and you’ll be somewhere near the mark! The Shitopedia – because even the best things in life can be shit.

Popular Nostalgia

Another collaborative effort which allows any registered user to make their own posts, Popular-Nostalgia.com is devoted to remeniscing about the recent and not-so-recent past through accurate portrayals of events and items from popular culture.

All of the above websites are completely free to use, and join, and will be forever. As will anything we set up in future. They should be interesting, amusing and enjoyable to all, and most of all, well written, and truly unique, in their own way. Check them out.

Coming Soon

The old horse racing site which had been my mainstay for a long time is to re-enter the internet after a year has passed from it’s relocation. This site will be a free resource for horse racing enthusiasts to share tips, advice, news and other racing information. We are still working on a few key concepts, before a full launch but the basic layout is almost ready.

There are a number of new ideas falling into the melting-pot as I write this, and ideas, partnerships and further collaborations are being discussed with a number of extremely interesting people. As always, watch this space. The network of sites that will develop as a result shall be a credit to all involved, due mostly to the passion and efforts put in by those who handle the day-to-day management of individual sites, as well as the contributors, members and guests. Hopefully, this will come through in the individual sites, and our little network shall continue to thrive.

Thanks for reading, and thanks to those of you who have helped, or are currently helping with any project of ours. Spread the word. The internet needs more interesting websites. Fact.
