Mannatech – is it Worth it?

One of the guys I work with fairly regularly has been talking about a company he uses to buy what he describes as “wellness products” quite a bit recently – a company by the name of Mannatech. He asked me if I considered them a good product to sell as an associate, so I went to have a look at what they offer. Here is what I discovered.

Mannatech are a MLM (Multilevel Marketing Company) which offers a pretty big range of health products based around nutritional supplements. Mannatech promises to help you to:

Take control of your health and share wellness solutions with others by learning more about Mannatech’s cutting-edge technologies which help provide what every body needs for optimal health.

For me, the Mannatech range appears expensive, however, my colleague swears by the capsules he is taking, and believes them to be extremely effective. He is quite interested in becomming an associate. As those of you who read this blog regularly will know, I am generally skeptical about most things, so I would like some more info on Mannatech before passing any judgement upon whether or not they are worth his promotion.

What I’d like to see is some comments from those of you out there who have had experience using Mannatech products – positive or negative – and also those of you who have associated with Mannatech. Feel free to leave some below.

  1. So, are there any Mannatech resellers or retailers out there who’d like to make any comment whatsoever?

I’m sure someone, somewhere has a Mannatech related experience!

  2. Hi,

Ive been using Manatech products like Ambrotose and AO, Phytomatrix for the past year and I tell you this stuff definitely works. I was scepticle at first but after years of constant flu’s and colds i succumbed to finding out how to improve my immune system and someone recommended these products . I haven’t been sick once since i have been taking them. I am a regular gym goer and do martial arts as well so my body does get a regular battering. Sure they are expensive but what is your health worth.

  3. Thanks for that Harry – the main question is whether this is a worthwhile business – are you reselling Mannatech, or do you just use it?

  4. Hi There!

I have used Mannatech Ambrotose; yes I think it is expensive; but it is worth it? every penny. I bought the optimum pack, I had a bad case of Bronchitis from November, the following March I was still coughing. I took this and in two weeks I was able to breath in and out without coughing.

  5. hi rob,

Just to reply to your question. I have just bought into the reselling as I thought i may as well earn enough to pay for the products. One has to believe in the products if they are to sell it and I definitely believe in it. I want everyone I know to be healthy and I know this stuff really does boost your immune system. As a worthwhile business? well for me it is early days so I cant tell but i guess it is purely dependant on how much work and effort you put into it that matters to see the results. Im going to just do it and seize the day!

  6. hi rob – great observations. When people say Ambrotose is expensive I always wonder what they are comparing it with – a pint of milk, a can of beans etc. Ambrotose is what it is and you either prioritise around it or you don’t. I’m my case, according to my Doctor, it essentially saved my life, so I’m a devotee.
I’ve been around Mannatech longer than almost anyone in Europe and have seen it all – including warts. The bottom line is that Ambrotose is a great product which is marketed in a way that many people are suspicious of – i can understand that but you have to look beyond the marketing and do your own diligence. Anyone who says that you need to buy £650 worth of products to be serious are thinking of their own interests not yours. Too may times i come across people who have been duped into spending quite large sums of money on Mannatech products in the anticipation that they will do miracles – only never to hear from the person who sold the products to them ever again. That’s why the attrition rate is over 95% after just 12 months. For this product to get the reputation it truly deserves we have to get better at getting results for people and that means getting better at creating relationships. I laugh (and cry) when i hear people being honoured by Mannatech for recruiting 10 people in a month – what sort of follow up do they get and what sort of results do they get. My message to the Associate base in Mannatech is ‘get your own house in order’ before recruiting anyone else. What do we train those that come on-board to do – just go and recruit more – it is unsustainable and leads to the demise and ultimate undermining of a great product.

  7. I can’t have that a doctor told you it saved your life I’m afraid – that sounds like a quite undoctorly thing to say indeed. In fact, I would go so far as to say a doctor should never say any one thing has “saved your life”, much less a wellness product.

Unless, of course, the package this product came in blocked a bullet, knife or fast moving train which would otherwise have struck a fatal blow; but that’s far-fetched, right?

  8. I see what you’re saying about after care Paul and it seems that Mannatech certainly has a lot of happy customers and they should be working to keep them that way.

I agree with Rob on the life claims – no-one can say that something saved their life without proof that other factors weren’t involved. Otherwise it may be your own positivity, immune system, change in medicines or particularly good curry which tipped the balance. You have to be able to separate out the different influences on your health which is almost impossible to do on a tiny scale – hence the utility of clinical trials.

Good look to you in your quest for wellbeing.

  9. Hi Rob,

As far as a business goes, it’s like any other business or pursuit in life. Some succeed, many fail and pull something off that’s mediocre. I just spent a week at a friend’s house who is 49, has been running his Mannatech business for something like 8 years (I met him through MLM and we became close friends). While I was there, his day consists of approx. 1-4 hours of phone calls to his team of people. 3 days after I left, he flew to the U.S. paid by Mannatech and then stopped into Hawaii for a couple of days. Approximately 80% of his income is from Mannatech. It’s not get-rich quick and probably it’s especially hard as a business because the money builds slowly for most people BUT.. here’s the big thing, if he stopped doing anything right now, his income would mostly continue, though possibly slow down little by little over a couple of years.

Me, I had to go and earn a “today” income over the last 8 years and have done absolutely nothing but there were times I was earning about $150 a month (not anymore). I am now in the fortunate position where I have quite a large business team and would have to do fairly minor amount of work to be earning approx $55K through that business.

As for the products, check out Mama Aum’s or even give her a call (Australian EST). I personally met this woman when I was staying with my friend. She’s crazy about the weight loss product because of her results (she changed nothing else in her lifestyle).

I have (had) a magnesium deficiency, which Mannatech products couldn’t fix..no doubt.. and the stuff I use for it is similar price/weight as Mannatech products, so I don’t really see Mannatech as being all that expensive.

but again, it’s like any business. I think one of the main problems actually is the low price entry into the business means that people won’t take it seriously. When you invest $50K or $200K in a business, you really HAVE to make it work, it’s your ass on the line. If you invest $500 in a business, then if it all gets too hard, you are likely to let it slide as I did 8 years ago but it could still be a good investment for me, let’s see.

  10. Ive logged on to google Mannatech to try to find a supplier overseas as i have run out of the product i use and feel bad without it. I only use the one product and its called ‘PLUS’ don’t know why or how it works but i suffer from severe constipation & this keeps me regular….it is definitely not a laxative which does more harm than good for a lazy bowel like mine & is not intended for a lazy bowel but has proven to work for me! Perhaps Mannatech don’t even know it has this result! I did consider selling Manatech at one stage but i think it is a little expensive & would be hard to sell considering all the products out there in competition.

  11. I suffer from nothing, and its because I use a super miracle product I like to call “exercise”.
