I recently finished some work updating and adding to the website of Scotts Wright Solicitors, a firm of North Yorkshire Solicitors with offices in Catterick Garrison, Richmond, Leyburn and Hawes.

This website utilises many necessary and helpful features, and has a nice drop down menu, that is constructed using CSS and it therefore search engine friendly.

Not a lot of solicitors, whether they be in North Yorkshire, the North of England, or just anywhere in the world, can claim to have a site that is as well optimized for search just based on the key elements built into the website – so props to them!

Without any real search placement based campaign to improve and increase rankings, it will be interesting to see just how much weight the simple site navigation, H1, H3 and alt text etc tags will help this site achieve any sort of SERPS penetration.

Having said that, we’ll punt some search juice into the mix to get things cranked up!

This is a great opportunity to test search ranking from the get go, with a specific niche or channel – that of solicitors / legal services. The site is unidexed by google altogether at present, so we can be largely sure what works and when it does.

The market is characterized by few key players, all of whom seem to invest little time or energy into their search performance (based on the [lack of] required components within highly ranked websites). Lets see if they are easily removed for any or all related searches.
