“Red Wine” at the Start of Lady Gaga and Enrique Iglesias

I was wondering why everybody was singing “Red Wine” at the start of the big pop tunes of this year and last and figured it must be a 21st Century version of “Dark Child”.

Dark Child was a favourite producer of stars like Jenny Lopez and the Spice Girls in the 90′s and his name was always whispered at the start of any tracks he produced in a hypnotic product placement style marketing effort. Turns out that the name on the start of the Gaga choons is actually “Red One” in a classic misheard lyrics mix up and he’s a brilliant producer.

Red One is a Swedish – Moroccan music producer who has been behind some of the biggest hits of the last few years – Lady Gaga & Akon “Just Dance”, Enrique Iglesias & Ciara “I’m Takin’ Back My Love”, Kat DeLuna’s “Whine Up” and the Sugababes new album. He co-owns Konvict Records with Akon. Watch out for his latest collaborations with Backstreet Boys, the Sugababes and Alexandra Burke.
