Swearing an Oath to the Queen at School -No Thanks
I’m glad I never had to swear an oath of allegiance to the Queen and country at school. I’m a republican and don’t think it’s in the interests of the country or democracy to uphold the aristocracy. Also, I’m not patriotic or even that proud of my country. I will probably live abroad again sometime soon.
I believe it is my democratic right to question the system of government in my home country in the interests of improving life here. The government here is an administrative necessity -not an emotional rallying point. I would not appreciate being brain-washed by my own teachers into accepting the status quo. Parliamentary democracy is far from democratic and so it should not be so blindly supported by schools.
I don’t believe in nationalism -it is the cause of most wars and may I remind the stupid bureaucrats suggesting this policy that “Britain” is an imagined community. It exists only in our ideas and laws -all of which are changeable. Once upon a time, Britain was ruled by a series of tribes, local kings and foreign invaders. It still consists of four different countries with their own administrations, languages and cultures.
Local identity is very important within Britain -every county has its own dialects, accents and histories. So how can we all subscribe to some grand “British identity” in the name of social cohesion when there hasn’t been cohesion between London and everywhere else for hundreds of years?
I know everyone wants immigrants to fit in. However, when Cornwall (or Kernow) still wants independence, which British identity should immigrants fit in with? I say let them sort themselves out because fitting in with London society is completely different from fitting in with Dales life, for example.
Another problem – why should immigrants have to swear allegiance to our country when I, as a British person with a British family history stretching back beyond records, have the right to call the Queen a distraction, the parliament undemocratic and the political system worthy of complete overhaul. The right of a citizen is to disagree and form a new, better system. Unquestioning obedience will result in an Orwellian government of authoritarianism -because you always get the government you deserve.

Scottish, Northern Irish and Welsh politicians of the nationalist variety have all warned about the “divisive” potential of an oath of allegiance to the kingdom -especially if the Queen is involved. The barrage of criticism looks set to derail the plans for schoolchildren to say an oath of allegiance.

I was born in 1945 under British brutish imperialism and colonialism. Of course, as long as I was being indoctrinated in the citadels of slavery (British Public Schools initially run by exclusively white European Roman Catholic racists, homosexuals and paedophiles), I learned very little about the world. I was made to believe Romeo and Juliet and King Henry VIII and his wives were all there was in the world. We all sang “God save the King/Queen”, good heavens! It was like praying to Satan himself!
We found both King Farouk and Shah Pahlavi so attractive that we had their portraits hung on our walls together with the British monarchs. My educated father did not tell me the truth about them. Did he know himself? If the West did not hang the portraits of Sheikh Usama Bin Ladin, Saddam Hussein, William Rockefeller Clinton and George Bush Senior and Junior (Zapata & Arbusto) on their walls, they did not mind at all that those gentlemen had their accounts in the same banks!
But, as soon as I was out of the indoctrinating machine, I grew out of all this mind control stuff, and we suddenly started to see the world in all its ugliness: Pharaonic Farouk in bed with top Roman prostitutes; Aryan Reza Pahlavi in bed in Switzerland with other top prostitutes, and the British monarchy ‘in bed with’ Satan himself! In psychiatry, we would say the British people are mentally sick to accept an un-elected woman to dictate to a supposedly elected government. We should forget what we read about democracy in Britain, THAT woman is the most powerful political figure in this god-damned country!
Mind you, I am not an immigrant here, but for the past 12 years or so, every time I show my French ID (International driving license and National Identity card) to my own Bank, at my own Branch, they are not accepted unless a familiar figure is present. I wonder how they manage with the million or so East European “immigrants”!
But, I brought up my son never to bow down to authority again, not to vote for any so-called democracy, and never to trust the “public schools” and the disinfo corporate media! I believe in inalienable rights (God given or not) and in a Republic that would respect those rights as INALIENABLE! All western democracies have become dictatorships. The only country that can still make a difference, in my view, is the bloodthirsty and warmongering USA that still has a Constitution and a Bill of Rights worth to fight for and to be snatched from the grip of the Secret Government that runs the “greatest purveyor of violence in the world”. As long as I live, I will see to it that my grand children who are British born never swear any oath of allegiance to any murderous monarch or authority. To me patriotism is racism! We are the State, we give ourselves rights, and we run the government and not vice versa. But, in reality those bozos have been ruling over (conning) the people ever since they invented big business controlled democracy! We use to pay the Police to protect us, and to respect them. Today’s Police in the UK are terrorists and bullies working for Capitalists.
I do not give a dam whether God exists or not, but I do not want to pay for teachers to teach my kids that we are evolved apes and that anybody who believes in God is mentally sick. (Oxford Pr Richard Dawkins) And, I will never ever respect any government that would send its minions at my doorstep to make death threats to me and my son because I spoke to some press whores (Libération…) in public about the government sponsored terror attacks in London on 7 July 2005 and their fabricated “Al-Qaeda Cells”, or have their Secret agents follow me in town and pick my pocket to steal my camera.
I totally agree, ““Britain” is an imagined community.” And as such, the question of “integration-assimilation” should never arise! But, the Fascists are pushing it very hard for the very reason that it is an illusion and can never be achieved except in a totalitarian state! I studied in the USSR, and I have been acquainted with the Bolshevik system tat we see here ‘now’ in the West.
In the USA, we have a farcical situation. More and more Israelis have US passports, but they all (the Zionists and some fnatics) swear allegiance to Israel first!
Finally, I would not say that THAT un-elected woman is a mere “distraction”. She is the clinical symptom by which we can diagnose the sickness of the British people. A revolution is long overdue in this island that has been controlling world affairs for quite some time from the Freemasonic City of London! But, this is utopic, and, of course, we always get the government we deserve at the end!
