What are the Legimate Sources for Free Movies and TV on the Internet?

Lot’s of people come into this website looking at the Watch Free Movies Online post I put up, which explains that piracy is a problem, as it will stop the people who produce great movies (and TV) from being paid, which means they’ll stop producing great TV.

It’s a simple equation: if you take away the rewards given to people who work hard, they’ll stop working so hard.

But, there are lots of (often commercially driven – see advertising!) legitimate free sources of TV and Movies online – and I know that a lot of you out there are dying to track them down.

I will add to this list if you leave comments containing your favourite sources, too.

Free Movies Online

The following providers offer access to free movies online:

  • YouTube (world-wide, but access to movies can be region-specific)
  • BBC iPlayer (UK only)

Free TV Online

The following websites provide access to free TV online – legitimately:

  • YouTube.com/shows (world-wide, but some shows locked by country of access – with ads)
  • BBC iPlayer (UK only – no ads)
  • ITV Player (UK only – with ads)
  • Five.tv (UK only – with adds)
  • 4OD (UK only – with ads)

Let me know about other providers in the comments section below – for your country – and I’ll add them to these lists. Hopefully, we can build up a clear picture of the free sources globally over time. That would be great, and truly helpful.

Thanks.
