UEFA Champions League Final – Manchester United v Chelsea

In half an hour or so, the 2008 UEFA Champion’s League Final between Manchester Unitad and Chelsea Football Club kicks off (at 7:45 BST).

I’m going to make a quick match prediction, as is customary for these big events, and say that I expect the flair and finishing power of Man Utd to overpower the defensive organisation of Chelsea. I predict that Man Utd will win this match by a solitary goal, winning 2-1.

Expect the goals to come from the usual suspects: Christiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney of United and Didier Drogba for Chelsea.

I also anticipate that, if Petr Cech plays in Chelsea’s goal, a goal may well come from a goalkeeping error, as Cech has looked a little shaky of late and, if goalkeeping history tells us anything it is that major matches best expose any cracks.

Whatever the result, I look forward to a cracking game. I’ve just put the pizzas in.
